Our teams are the cornerstone of our success

Foundation Teams

The Foundation teams champion inclusion and opportunity, offering programmes that empower people of all ages and abilities. Each team is built to remove barriers, build confidence, and create meaningful pathways through the power of rugby league

Wheelchair

The Bradford Bulls Wheelchair Rugby League Club was formed in January 2009 to bring wheelchair sport back in to Bradford. Wheelchair Rugby League is the most inclusive sport bringing together both able bodied and disabled players, of any gender, over the age of 12.

The Bradford Bulls Wheelchair Rugby league team have had a great deal of success over the years and will compete in the Wheelchair Super League in 2026 following promotion from the Championship.

The Team train and play at Sedburgh Sport Centre Bradford, which is one of the few facilities in the country with a full size fully marked out indoor pitch.

A number of our recent players have progressed onto the Future of England Pathway, including our current Coach Keiron Johnson and our current Vice Captain Isabelle Wright and her older brother Nathaniel Wright

The team are part of the Bradford Bulls Foundation delivering not only weekly training sessions and a competitive playing squad but also take any opportunity to work within many schools, colleges and community events across the Bradford District and beyond.

Open Disability (LD/PDRL)

The Bradford Bulls Open Disability programme brings together Learning Disability Rugby League (LDRL) and Physical Disability Rugby League (PDRL), offering fully inclusive playing opportunities for participants who want to experience the game in an adapted, supportive environment. PDRL is a running, full‑contact format designed for players with physical disabilities, while LDRL focuses on enjoyment, skill development, and social connection through a non‑competitive version of the sport.

PDRL has grown rapidly across the UK, with landmark moments such as the first PDRL World Club Challenge helping raise the profile of the game. The format is played nine‑a‑side on a modified pitch, combining full‑contact players with those playing under Touch RL rules, ensuring everyone can take part safely. Both formats emphasise participation, teamwork, and the wider wellbeing benefits that rugby league brings.

The Bulls Foundation delivers regular training sessions, festivals, and competitive opportunities, creating a welcoming pathway for new and experienced players alike. Anyone interested in joining the Open Disability teams can get in touch to learn more about how to get involved.
